Quantilope is an automated consumer intelligence platform whose whole pitch is method breadth: run MaxDiff, TURF, conjoint, implicit association and price sensitivity without a statistician. The alternatives worth considering in 2026 are Koji, Zappi, Conjoint.ly, Sawtooth Software, Attest, Appinio, Suzy, Kantar Marketplace and Qualtrics Strategy & Research.

Quantilope publishes something most of its competitors do not: a full feature matrix showing exactly which methods belong to which tier. It is worth reading closely, because it answers the question buyers actually care about - is the method I am buying this platform for included in the tier I can afford?

For two methods, the answer is no.

The short answer

Quantilope publishes 15 automated research methods across three tiers. Thirteen are available on the entry tier. The two that are not are Conjoint and Segmentation - and they are among the most common reasons teams buy an advanced-methods platform in the first place. The same top tier also gates PowerPoint Export, API Integration and SSO.

Read the matrix as a whole and a pattern appears that is more interesting than the price: the entry tier is generous about producing findings and restrictive about getting them out. You can run thirteen advanced methods on Business. You cannot export the deck, pipe the data anywhere, or pass an SSO requirement.

What Quantilope's pricing matrix actually shows

Quantilope's pricing page lists three tiers - Business (CI Advanced), Pro and Enterprise - and marks every capability as included or not. Transcribed exactly, here is where the lines fall.

MaxDiff (Count-Based and HB), PSM, TURF, A/B Test, A/B Pre-roll, Key Driver Analysis, Penalty-RewardIncludedIncludedIncluded
Mental Availability, Mental Advantage (tracking)IncludedIncludedIncluded

Every tier does include what Quantilope calls "Full Platform Access," the quinn AI co-pilot, research support, panel services and professional services. That is a real and fair inclusion, and the AI co-pilot genuinely is on every plan: Quantilope confirms that all packages "provide full, anytime-access to our integrated AI co-pilot, quinn."

But set the marketing next to the matrix. Quantilope describes itself as offering "the largest selection of fully automated, advanced research methodologies for statistically robust insights that brands need to make competitive business decisions," and its advanced suite as having "15 methods to choose from, such as MaxDiff, TURF, Implicit Testing, and A/B Tests." All true. The matrix simply adds that the selection you get depends on the tier you buy, and that conjoint - the single method most often cited when a team decides it needs automation for advanced research - sits at the top.

The deeper pattern is about distribution, not method. Of the five capabilities reserved for Enterprise, two are methods and three are ways of moving a finding out of the platform: the deck (PowerPoint Export), the pipe (API Integration) and the security review that lets a large company adopt it at all (SSO). On the entry tier you can do a great deal of research and then have to move the results by hand.

The pricing you cannot see

Quantilope does not publish prices in any tier. The commercial model is credits: "You simply subscribe to credits based on your requirements, ensuring your plan scales perfectly with your business." Trials are discretionary rather than standard - "quantilope offers a limited trial or pilot study for select clients," typically a single project using one automated method.

That is a familiar shape in this category, and it is the shape that sends people to Google. You cannot size the commitment, you cannot self-serve, and the evaluation path is a pilot the vendor decides whether to grant you.

Where Quantilope is genuinely differentiated is brand tracking. Its Better Brand Health Tracking is built on Ehrenberg-Bass Institute thinking, organised around Category Entry Points and Mental Availability - measuring the situations that make someone enter a category and which brands come to mind when they do. That is a defensible, well-grounded approach, and both tracking methods are included on every tier. If brand tracking is the job, this is a serious platform.

What automated methods cannot do

There is a limit that no tier fixes. Every method in that matrix is a structured instrument applied to a panel. MaxDiff tells you which of your attributes wins on trade-off. Conjoint tells you the share of preference for a feature bundle. Penalty-Reward tells you which attributes drag satisfaction down. All of it is quantitatively rigorous, and none of it asks a follow-up.

That matters most exactly when the result is surprising. When a MaxDiff puts an attribute you expected to win in last place, the instrument cannot tell you whether respondents misread the wording, valued something you did not list, or genuinely disagree with your product strategy. Those are three completely different decisions, and distinguishing them requires asking.

The industry is feeling this. GreenBook's 2026 GRIT Insights Practice Report reports that "Fraud detection has become embedded standard practice, with 70 to 88% of users across every segment using tools regularly, while brand-side researchers are increasingly building proprietary panels to reduce reliance on external suppliers." When trust in rented panels falls, the value of being able to interrogate an answer rises.

The 9 best Quantilope alternatives in 2026

1. Koji (best overall for understanding why a method produced the result it did). Koji runs AI-moderated voice and text interviews with your own customers, asks unscripted follow-ups in the moment, and applies automatic thematic analysis across every conversation. It is not a replacement for a hierarchical Bayes conjoint, and it does not pretend to be. It is the layer that explains the output: run the trade-off exercise, then interview the people whose answers broke the model. Pricing is published and starts at EUR 29/month for 29 credits or EUR 79/month for 79, with 10 credits free on signup and no card required. Voice interviews cost 3 credits, text 1, and only conversations scoring 3 or better bill at all. Six structured question types (open_ended, scale, single_choice, multiple_choice, ranking and yes_no) mean you can attach quantifiable measures directly to the conversation. Best for: teams who need the reasoning behind the numbers, and who want to evaluate a platform without requesting permission to pilot it.

2. Zappi. The closest automated competitor, strongest on advertising and innovation norms in CPG and QSR. Also quote-based and enterprise-shaped; our Zappi alternatives piece works through what its published ROI study actually assumes.

3. Conjoint.ly. The obvious answer to the specific gap above. Self-serve conjoint, MaxDiff and pricing research with published pricing and no tier that hides the method behind an enterprise contract.

4. Sawtooth Software. The reference standard for conjoint and MaxDiff, with the deepest control over experimental design. Choose it when methodological defensibility matters more than automation.

5. Attest. Transparent credit mechanics, unlimited seats and 59 markets, strong for tracking and straightforward consumer studies. Credits expire annually - see our Attest alternatives analysis.

6. Appinio. Fast consumer panel research with a credit bundle, good European coverage, lighter on advanced methods.

7. Suzy. Always-on consumer insights with a members panel and a heavier services layer, aimed at large brand teams.

8. Kantar Marketplace. Automated versions of Kantar's validated solutions with the deepest normative databases in the category, priced accordingly.

9. Qualtrics Strategy & Research. The broadest method library with enterprise governance, sold per seat plus responses, with conjoint and segmentation available but licensed at enterprise cost.

How to choose

Start by naming the one method you are actually buying the platform for, then check which tier it sits in. If that method is conjoint or segmentation, Quantilope's entry and mid tiers do not include it, and you should price the Enterprise tier or look at a specialist such as Conjoint.ly or Sawtooth that sells the method directly.

Then check the exit path. If your team lives in PowerPoint, or your data needs to reach a warehouse, or your security review requires SSO, all three sit on the top tier. Those are easy things to discover after signing and expensive to discover then.

If brand tracking built on Category Entry Points is the job and your budget reaches the platform, Quantilope is genuinely strong and the Ehrenberg-Bass foundation is a real advantage over generic trackers.

And if what you actually need is to understand the reasoning behind a number your existing methods produced, no tier of any automated survey platform will get you there. Our guides on conjoint analysis, MaxDiff analysis, customer segmentation research, brand tracking studies and pricing research interviews cover how to combine structured measurement with conversation, and panel conditioning explains why your most reliable panellists may be your least representative.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Quantilope cost?

Quantilope does not publish prices on any tier. It sells three packages - Business (CI Advanced), Pro and Enterprise - on a credit subscription, stating that you "subscribe to credits based on your requirements." Sizing requires a sales conversation, and trials are discretionary: Quantilope offers "a limited trial or pilot study for select clients," usually one project using a single automated method.

Does Quantilope include conjoint analysis?

Only on the Enterprise tier. Quantilope's published matrix marks Conjoint and Segmentation as not included on both Business and Pro, and included on Enterprise. If conjoint is your primary reason for buying an automated methods platform, this is the most important line in the matrix.

What is included in Quantilope's entry tier?

Thirteen of its fifteen published methods, including MaxDiff (count-based and hierarchical Bayes), TURF, Price Sensitivity Meter, A/B testing, Key Driver Analysis, Penalty-Reward and both tracking methods, plus the quinn AI co-pilot, research templates, live significance testing and automated data cleaning. Not included: conjoint, segmentation, implicit testing, inColor, PowerPoint export, API integration, MFA and SSO.

Quantilope vs Zappi: which should I choose?

Quantilope is broader on automated advanced methods and stronger on Ehrenberg-Bass-based brand tracking. Zappi is stronger on advertising and innovation normative benchmarking, particularly in CPG and quick-service dining. Both are quote-based, both bundle panel access, and neither asks respondents a follow-up question.

What is the best Quantilope alternative for qualitative depth?

Koji. Quantilope's one qualitative method, inColor, requires the Pro tier. Koji is built entirely around AI-moderated conversation: voice and text interviews that probe unscripted, with automatic thematic analysis across every transcript, published pricing from EUR 29 per month and 10 free credits on signup.

Can AI-moderated interviews replace advanced quantitative methods?

No, and you should be sceptical of anyone who says otherwise. Conjoint, MaxDiff and TURF answer trade-off and portfolio questions that conversation cannot answer at scale. What AI-moderated interviews replace is the guesswork after the model runs - the part where a team speculates about why respondents behaved as they did instead of asking them.

Buy the method, then buy the explanation

Quantilope's matrix is an unusually honest document, and it rewards reading. It tells you that thirteen methods are within reach on the entry tier, that conjoint and segmentation are not, and that the deck, the API and the SSO login all sit at the top. Those are exactly the facts a buyer needs before the first sales call rather than after the contract.

What no tier on that matrix provides is the follow-up question. When a MaxDiff ranks your headline feature last, or a segmentation produces a cluster nobody recognises, the instrument has done its job and stopped. Koji picks it up from there: AI-moderated voice and text interviews with your own customers, unscripted probing in the moment, automatic thematic analysis across every conversation, and a one-click report - with no moderator bias and no research degree required.
