Reference table
Four ways AI answers get your brand wrong

A table of the four ways an AI assistant's description of a product goes wrong: putting it in the wrong category, getting an attribute wrong, attaching someone else's claim to it, and inheriting a competitor's or reviewer's framing. Each row shows what the error looks like and what it costs in the sales process. Use it to score saved AI answers before running an unprompted-description study with real buyers.
Where this appears
What's in this reference table
| Failure mode | What it looks like | What it costs |
|---|---|---|
| Category misassignment | You sell a research platform and the model files you under survey tools | Compared against the wrong rivals, on criteria that do not apply |
| Attribute error | Wrong pricing, a free tier that no longer exists, enterprise only when you self-serve | Buyers disqualify you before contact, and you never learn it happened |
| Misattributed claim | A competitor's limitation or one reviewer's criticism, stated as fact about you | You spend the first call defending something you never said |
| Framing inheritance | The model adopts a reviewer's or competitor's framing as a neutral description | Your positioning is written by whoever publishes most, not the best product |
