The five stages of design thinking

The five stages of design thinking as Stanford's d.school frames them: empathize, define, ideate, prototype and test. Each stage gets a one-line job, and the last one notes that teams loop back when testing turns up something new. Use it to plan where research fits in a design project. Empathize is where interviews do most of the work, and Koji can run them as AI-moderated interviews.

What's in this process
- Empathize: Understand the people you're designing for through research.
- Define: Turn what you learned into a clear problem statement.
- Ideate: Generate a wide range of possible solutions.
- Prototype: Build quick, low-cost versions of the ideas.
- Test: Get feedback from real users, then loop back to an earlier stage when you need to.
