Layoff survivor interview timeline
A 75-day round for HR after a layoff or restructuring

A step-by-step timeline for interviewing the employees who stay after a layoff or restructuring. It is written for HR leaders and People Ops teams who need to know what survivors are carrying before they lose them. Wave one opens about ten days after the announcement and wave two repeats the same questions around day 60. Koji can run both waves with AI-moderated interviews.

What's in this process
- Before the announcement: Draft the guide and brief. Agree who sends the link and what you will share back.
- Day 0 to 9: let the shock settle: Brief managers on the dates and on what their teams will hear. Do not survey yet.
- Day 10 to 20: wave one: Leadership sends one generic link. Keep it open for ten days.
- Day 21: executive readout: Workload map, trust gap and risk clusters by segment, with quotes.
- Day 30: act and tell staff: Decide what stops, fix the top three issues and say what changed.
- Day 60 to 75: wave two: Same questions again. Compare with wave one to see if the fixes landed.
