Framework
Safety, load, truth: what layoff survivors ask
Three questions to build every survivor interview around

After a layoff, the people who stay are judging three things: whether their own job is safe, how much of the cut work has landed on them, and whether the explanation they were given is true. Use the framework to write or trim interview questions for a survivor round. If a question serves none of the three, remove it. It comes from how the survivor research on fairness and commitment is usually read, applied to interview design.

What's in this framework
- Safety: Is my own job safe, and what has my manager said about my future?
- Load: What work landed on me, what stopped, and who agreed to that?
- Truth: Do the reasons I was given match what I see happening?
