Process

Six steps to validate synthetic user research

A protocol UX researchers can run in about a week

Process showing six steps to validate synthetic user research with real participants: freeze the output, write questions, screen, preview, read and score.
The whole protocol on one page, from saved synthetic output to scored claims.

A six-step process for checking AI persona findings with real participants. It starts by saving the synthetic output and ends with a score for each claim. It is written for UX researchers and research leads who want a repeatable protocol. Koji can run the interviews and show the quotes behind each finding.

What's in this process

  1. Freeze the synthetic output: Save the run with a date and list its claims before any real data arrives.
  2. Turn claims into questions: Write each claim as an open question, a ranking or a scale.
  3. Screen the same audience: Use a screener that matches the persona you prompted.
  4. Preview, then launch: Take the interview yourself, then send links or recruit.
  5. Read the report: Check each claim against findings and the quotes behind them.
  6. Score and decide: Mark confirmed, contradicted or not raised, then act.
