Checklist
Making compulsory course feedback worth reading
For universities that require students to complete course evaluations

A seven-point checklist for universities where course feedback is compulsory, as at several Estonian institutions. It covers closing the loop with students, keeping the required set small, screening careless answers fairly and reporting what was removed, asking for reasons, protecting anonymity and adding a mid-semester round. Quality teams can use it to review a mandatory evaluation scheme. Koji supports several of these steps with follow-up questions and visible quality scoring.
What's in this checklist
- Tell each cohort what changed because of the last one
- Keep the set of compulsory questionnaires small
- Screen out clicked-through answers on effort, never on opinion
- Report how many responses were removed per course
- Ask students for the reason behind each rating
- Explain who sees what, and protect anonymity firmly
- Add a mid-semester check-in that can still change the course
