Framework

The three layers of multilingual course evaluation

Framework showing the three layers of multilingual course evaluation: translating questions, collecting answers and analysing comments across languages.
Most tools cover the first two layers. Ask vendors to show you the third.

A three-part framework for judging multilingual course evaluation software. Layer one is translating the questionnaire, including answer options and scale labels. Layer two is collecting answers so the same option counts the same in every language. Layer three, analysing open comments across languages into one set of themes, is where tools differ most. Use it to structure an RFP or a vendor demo. Koji covers all three in one study.

What's in this framework

  1. Translate the questions: Questions, answer options and scale labels in every language you offer.
  2. Collect the answers: Students answer in their own language, and each answer counts as the same option.
  3. Analyse across languages: Comments in every language end up in one comparable set of themes.
