Flowchart
Open or structured interview question?

A decision flowchart for each question in an interview guide. Questions you won't count stay open. Questions you will count become a scale, a ranking, or a single or multiple choice question, and every structured answer gets a why follow-up so the numbers come with reasons. Koji supports all of these question types in one AI-moderated interview.

What's in this flowchart
Start: You have a question for your guide
- Will you count or compare the answers?
- Yes: go to 2.
- No: Ask it as an open question. Add a note on what a good answer includes.
- Is it a rating, like ease or satisfaction?
- No: go to 3.
- Yes: Use a scale. For a score you will compare across people. Then go to 5.
- Do you need an order, not just a pick?
- No: go to 4.
- Yes: Use a ranking question. Shuffle the items for each person. Then go to 5.
- Use single or multiple choice. Shuffle options that have no natural order.
- Finish: Add a why follow-up. Every rating or choice gets one, so numbers come with reasons.
