Question bank
Story-based interview questions for continuous discovery
Five questions to ask customers and four to ask your team afterwards

A short question bank for weekly discovery interviews. The first five questions anchor the customer on a specific past event so you hear about real problems and workarounds instead of a wish list. The second set is for the team after the call, to decide what goes on the opportunity solution tree. Copy them into your interview guide, or into a Koji study so an AI interviewer asks them and follows up.

What's in this question bank
Ask about a real past event
- Tell me about the last time you [did the thing you are researching].
- What were you trying to accomplish?
- What made that hard?
- What did you do to work around it?
- What did that cost you in time or money?
After each interview
- What new opportunities (needs, pain points, desires) did we hear?
- Do they map to opportunities already on the tree, or are they new?
- Did anything challenge or rule out an assumption we hold?
- Do the new opportunities suggest a solution worth exploring?
