Useberry is a prototype and website testing platform built around Figma imports, click tracking and user flows, with a free tier and published European pricing. The alternatives worth considering in 2026 are Koji, Maze, Lyssna, UXtweak, Userbrain, Userlytics, Loop11 and PlaybookUX. The choice between them turns on a detail buried in a tooltip rather than a headline, and it points the wrong way from what most buyers assume: the audience Useberry meters is the one you already own.
The short answer
Useberry's response limits, 10 a month on Free, 300 on Growth and 2,000 on Business, apply only when you test with your own users. Responses sourced from Useberry's own Participant Pool are not capped at all. The tooltip on the pricing page states it directly: the response allowance is "The total number of responses you can collect each month when using your own audience. No limits apply when using Useberry's Participant Pool."
That is an unusual incentive. The cheapest research you can do, talking to customers you already have a relationship with, is the research the plan rations. The research that generates additional revenue for the vendor is the research with no ceiling. Useberry is not hiding this, and the platform itself is good. But if your research strategy is built on your own users, which most product teams' strategies now are, you are buying the constrained version of the product.
How Useberry pricing actually works
Four tiers, three with published prices, all annual:
- Free, EUR 0: "10 responses / month," "1 seat (add up to 20)," "1 project," "3 versions / project," "5 blocks."
- Growth, EUR 83 / month (billed yearly): "300 responses / month (buy up to 2,000)," "1 seat (buy up to 20)," "Unlimited projects, versions & blocks," "5 interviews / month," "10 transcription hours / month," "20 GB uploaded recordings storage."
- Business, EUR 659 / month (billed yearly): "2,000 responses / month (buy up to 4,000)," "5 seats (buy up to 20)," "50 interviews / month," "30 transcription hours / month," "500 GB uploaded recordings storage," "SAML-based SSO."
- Enterprise: quoted, "From 48,000 responses / year," "From 10 seats," "From 100 interviews / month."
Three things fall out of that, and each one is worth checking against your own plan before you commit to an annual contract.
The step from Growth to Business costs more per response, not less. Growth is EUR 996 a year for 3,600 own-audience responses, which is EUR 0.277 each. Business is EUR 7,908 a year for 24,000, which is EUR 0.329 each. The price multiplies by 7.94 while the allowance multiplies by 6.67, so buying 6.7 times more responses costs about 19% more per response. Volume discounts are the norm in this category; this is the opposite.
Growth gives you 300 responses a month and one person to read them. The seat line is "1 seat (buy up to 20)," so on the entry paid plan collaboration is an add-on rather than an inclusion. Research that only one person can open is research that will struggle to change a decision, which is the actual failure mode most teams should be pricing.
The AI features on the EUR 659 plan are labelled as not yet shipped. The Business feature list reads "AI-powered features (coming soon)." On Enterprise the corresponding line is "AI features add-on," which reads as a separate charge. So at the time of writing, the tier that costs 7.9 times Growth lists its AI capability as forthcoming, and the tier above that lists it as an extra. For a category where automatic analysis is the main reason to buy anything in 2026, that is the single most important line on the page.
What you actually get, and where it stops
The product is genuinely strong in its lane. Useberry covers first-click tests, five-second tests, card sorting, tree testing, preference tests, A/B testing, surveys and single-task studies, and imports prototypes "from tools such as Figma and ProtoPie." The analysis layer is well built: "Watch Recordings to see real user behavior," "Use Click Tracking to reveal hotspots and top interactions," "Follow User Flows to inspect complete user journeys." Unlimited projects, versions and blocks from Growth upward removes a ceiling that competitors still charge for.
Useberry has also added live moderated sessions, described as running "live moderated research directly inside Useberry," metered at 5 a month on Growth and 50 on Business. That closes part of the gap with moderated platforms, at the cost of the thing moderated research always costs: your calendar. Five interviews a month is five scheduling threads, five no-shows to chase and five hours of your own time.
Where it stops is the same boundary every unmoderated tool runs into. Click tracking tells you where people went. Recordings tell you what they did. Neither can ask why, and neither can ask the question you did not think of before the study started. When a participant hesitates for eleven seconds on a pricing screen, the heatmap records the hesitation and nothing asks about it.
The generative vs. evaluative research guide sets out which of your questions actually need a conversation, and the first-click testing guide and preference testing guide cover the methods Useberry does well.
The 8 best Useberry alternatives in 2026
1. Koji, the best alternative for the questions a prototype test cannot ask. Koji runs AI-moderated voice and text interviews that follow up in the moment, applies automatic thematic analysis across every conversation and produces a one-click report. There is no moderator to schedule and no research expertise required, which is what makes depth scale past five interviews a month. Pricing is fully published: Insights at EUR 29 a month for 29 credits, Interviews at EUR 79 for 79, 1 credit per text conversation and 3 per voice conversation, plus 10 free credits on signup with no card. Extra credit packs get cheaper with volume, 100 for EUR 95 and 250 for EUR 225 against a EUR 1 list price, and only conversations scoring 3 or above on the quality gate consume credits. Most importantly for anyone reading this comparison, talking to your own customers is not the metered case, it is the normal case. Six structured question types, open_ended, scale, single_choice, multiple_choice, ranking and yes_no, keep the quantitative side intact; see the structured questions guide.
2. Maze, the closest like-for-like. Stronger quantitative prototype reporting and a larger integration ecosystem. See Maze alternatives for its own metering model.
3. Lyssna, best for rapid design decisions. Preference and five-second tests with a clean panel purchase flow. See Lyssna alternatives.
4. UXtweak, the widest method set for the money, including session recording and a usable free tier.
5. Userbrain, the simplest unmoderated option, with every feature on the entry plan. Watch the tester expiry, covered in Userbrain alternatives.
6. Userlytics, the broad panel platform with EU data residency, though session pricing is quoted rather than published. See Userlytics alternatives.
7. Loop11, built for larger task-based studies on live sites, with strong completion and time-on-task metrics.
8. PlaybookUX, moderated and unmoderated with an included panel, a better fit when you need a human in the session.

How to choose without regretting it at renewal
Work out which audience you actually test with. If 80% of your studies use your own users, the plan you need is set by the metered allowance, not the headline. Three hundred responses a month sounds generous until a single 60-question study with 40 participants consumes it.
Model the Growth to Business step honestly. It is EUR 996 a year against EUR 7,908. Before paying eight times more, confirm what you are getting beyond volume, and confirm in writing whether the AI features listed as coming soon have shipped.
Count the seats. One seat on Growth means one person can run and read the research. If your goal is to make research a team habit, the seat upsell is part of the real price, not a detail. Our per-seat vs usage-based pricing breakdown covers how much this changes a total.
Separate the two questions. Prototype testing answers whether an interface works. It does not answer why someone would buy it, switch to it, or leave. Trying to make one tool do both is how teams end up with a heatmap and no explanation.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Useberry cost?
Useberry publishes a free tier at EUR 0 with "10 responses / month," Growth at EUR 83 a month billed yearly with 300 responses a month, and Business at EUR 659 a month billed yearly with 2,000 responses a month. Enterprise is quoted and starts "From 48,000 responses / year." Annual totals are therefore about EUR 996 for Growth and EUR 7,908 for Business.
Do Useberry's response limits apply to my own users?
Yes, and only to them. The pricing page tooltip defines responses as "The total number of responses you can collect each month when using your own audience. No limits apply when using Useberry's Participant Pool." So testing with customers you recruit yourself draws down the allowance, while responses sourced from Useberry's own pool do not.
Is Useberry Business worth the jump from Growth?
Check the arithmetic before assuming it is. Business is 7.94 times the price of Growth for 6.67 times the own-audience responses, which works out about 19% more expensive per response. The additional value is in seats, interviews, transcription hours, storage and SSO rather than in cheaper volume, so it is worth the jump only if those specific limits are what is blocking you.
Does Useberry include AI analysis?
Not clearly, at the time of writing. The Business tier lists "AI-powered features (coming soon)" and the Enterprise tier lists an "AI features add-on." If automatic analysis is a reason you are buying, ask for the current status and the add-on price in writing before signing an annual contract.
What is the best Useberry alternative for understanding why users behave the way they do?
Koji. Useberry shows you where users clicked and how they moved through a flow; Koji asks them about it. AI-moderated interviews probe unscripted in the moment, then thematic analysis runs across every conversation automatically, so depth does not depend on how many sessions you personally have time to moderate.
Can Useberry replace moderated interviews?
Partly. Useberry now runs live moderated sessions inside the platform, metered at 5 a month on Growth and 50 on Business, which is useful. But those are sessions you schedule and run yourself, so the constraint is your calendar rather than the plan. AI-moderated interviews remove that constraint, which is why teams comparing moderated vs unmoderated research increasingly treat them as a third category rather than a cheaper version of either.
Your own customers should not be the expensive option
Useberry is a good prototype testing tool with a clear price list, and its click tracking and user flows are genuinely useful. But a plan that caps the research you do with your own users, and uncaps the research you buy, is optimised for the vendor's revenue rather than your learning. Add AI features still marked as coming soon on a EUR 659 tier, and the annual commitment deserves a hard look.
Koji is built for the opposite default. Talk to your own customers as the normal case. AI-moderated voice and text interviews with unscripted follow-ups, automatic thematic analysis across every conversation, a one-click report, six structured question types when you need numbers, and credits that get cheaper in volume rather than more expensive. Low-quality conversations never bill at all.
