Agency proposal discovery timeline

Six steps counted back from pitch day

Process showing the six steps of agency proposal discovery, counted back from pitch day.
Counting back from pitch day gives you three weeks and one visible deliverable.

A six-step timeline for agencies who want to interview every team at a prospect before writing a proposal. It runs from the sponsor call three weeks out to the sponsor reviewing the what-we-heard page three days before the pitch. Koji can run the interviews and produce the report.

What's in this process

  1. T-21: sponsor call: Get permission, the stakeholder list by team, and one sceptic per team.
  2. T-19: build and preview: Paste the brief, edit the questions, run a preview yourself.
  3. T-17: sponsor sends invites: Short email, your branded link, a ten-minute promise.
  4. T-17 to T-10: fieldwork: Remind anyone who has not started on day three. Close on T-10.
  5. T-9 to T-5: write: Build the what-we-heard page first, then the scope.
  6. T-3: sponsor reviews: Let them correct the page so pitch day starts with agreement.
