How to ask customers for an interview
Pick the channel by what you already have for each customer

A short decision path for a small business that wants customers to talk to it. It starts at the sale and checks whether you have contact details and consent, then sends one message and one reminder. Use it to decide whether to hand over a card, ask again at the next visit or follow up by text or email. Koji can host the interview behind the link.

What's in this flowchart
Start: A customer just bought from you
- Do you have their phone number or email?
- Yes: go to 2.
- No: Hand over a card with a short link. Say what it is for, how long it takes and what they get.
- Did they agree to be contacted?
- Yes: go to 3.
- No: Ask again at the next visit. Never text or email without a yes.
- Send a short message the next day. Their name, the reason, ten minutes, the thank-you.
- Did they reply within three days?
- Yes: go to 5.
- No: Send one reminder, then stop. A second nudge is where it turns into nagging. Then go to 5.
- Run the conversation. Ask about the last time they bought.
- Finish: Read the first batch before asking more.
