Framework
The evidence ladder for roadmap bets
Five grades from assumed to behavioural

A five-step ladder for grading how well customers back a roadmap bet, from an assumption up to a stated need that matches usage data. Product managers use it before quarterly planning to see which bets deserve the top slots and which are hunches. Koji's interview reports give the counts and quotes that move a bet up a step.

What's in this framework
- 1. Assumed: No customer input. The idea came from us.
- 2. Anecdotal: One request or one loud account.
- 3. Patterned: The same problem from 3 or more people in one segment.
- 4. Counted: The pattern holds across segments, with a count: 11 of 30.
- 5. Behavioural: What people say matches what usage data shows they do.
