The Lean Canvas: nine blocks on one page
Ash Maurya's one-page business model template for startups

The nine blocks of the Lean Canvas, the one-page business model template Ash Maurya created in 2010: problem, customer segments, unique value proposition, solution, channels, revenue streams, cost structure, key metrics and unfair advantage. It is for founders who treat a business model as a list of hypotheses to test, not a plan to execute. Use it as a checklist when you sketch a canvas, then rank the blocks by risk and validate the riskiest first.
