Reference table
UK Quality Code 2024 principles mapped to course evaluation evidence

A table of the twelve Sector-Agreed Principles in the 2024 UK Quality Code for Higher Education, with what review teams look for under each and the student evaluation evidence that answers it. It is for quality, registry and student-engagement teams preparing self-evaluation documents, and it marks honestly where evaluation plays little or no part. Koji produces the themed, quote-backed reports listed in the third column.
What's in this reference table
| Principle | What reviewers look for | Koji output |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Strategic approach to quality | A quality strategy that uses student evidence | Provider-wide studies with consistent questions across faculties |
| 2. Engaging students as partners | Student voice heard, answered and fed back | Themed reports with student quotes to share back through committees |
| 3. Resourcing delivery | Evidence that learning resources meet needs | Targeted studies on library, space or digital resources |
| 4. Using data | Qualitative and quantitative data at every level | Rating items as charts plus coded themes, per module or programme |
| 5. Monitoring and enhancing | Regular review, and checks that changes worked | Duplicated studies each term keep questions comparable year on year |
| 6. External review and accreditation | Evidence ready for review teams and PSRBs | Report themes and quotes cited in self-evaluation documents |
| 7. Designing and approving programmes | Student input into design and modification | Consultation interviews with current students before revalidation |
| 8. Operating partnerships | Equivalent student experience at partners | Screening questions to report partner-site students separately |
| 9. Recruiting and admitting | Fair, clear admissions | Limited role: optional entrant interviews on the admissions experience |
| 10. Supporting students | Support that helps students reach their potential | Interviews with targeted groups, such as placement or part-time students |
| 11. Teaching, learning and assessment | How students experience teaching and assessment | Module evaluations with follow-up questions on feedback and assessment |
| 12. Concerns, complaints and appeals | Clear, fair and timely processes | Not a complaints system; themes may flag issues to route to it |
