Checklist
Questions to ask during constant comparison

A checklist of seven questions to ask each time a new interview or observation comes in during constant comparative analysis. It covers likeness and difference, category properties, cases that break the pattern, memo writing and theoretical sampling. Use it as a prompt card for qualitative researchers and product teams who analyse interviews while fieldwork is still running. Koji makes this easier by analysing each interview as soon as it is done.

What's in this checklist
- How is this incident like the ones already in this category?
- How is it different, and what does that tell me?
- Does it add a new property to the category?
- Does it fit more than one category?
- Is this a case that breaks the pattern?
- What memo should I write before I forget it?
- Who should I interview next to test this category?
